Contribute to Sida's work on peace and security Do you have knowledge and experience working with peace and security? About the job You will contribute to learning by making evidence, environmental analysis, methods, and knowledge development accessible to support effective aid that helps prevent conflict and build peace, including strengthening societies' resilience to crises and reducing humanitarian needs. Additionally, you will provide expert support to the Government Offices in this area. You will be part of the Thematic and Learning Unit under the Results Department. You work at our office in Rissne. (The department has approximately 100 employees) Key responsibilities Contribute to making evidence on peace and security, strategic development, and learning accessible through subject matter expertise, methodological support, and competence development Support departments and overseas missions, and coordinate and contribute to subject-related assignments for the Government Offices and Sida's management. Monitor and report on developments in the subject area through research and environmental scanning, and contribute to Sida's analyses (implementation plans, country and regional analyses based on multidimensional poverty analysis, thematic analyses, etc.). Contribute to developing and strengthening Sida's cross-sectoral work on peace and security within various thematic areas, including HR/DEMO, climate security, women, peace and security, root causes of migration and sustainable return, and protection issues within humanitarian aid. Qualifications Education Academic degree with relevant specialization for the position Languages Swedish, English Work experience and knowledge Extensive professional experience working with peace and security Strong analytical skills regarding environmental developments and ability to compile complex analyses into understandable context and structure Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to represent and present in official contexts Functional competencies/skills: For this role, you need to: Be able to direct yourself and take responsibility for your own development Have the ability to handle stress, uncertainty, and risks Be skilled at collaboration and building trusting relationships Be skilled at leading and engaging others Be able to handle resistance, be flexible, and solution-focused Communicate strategically to influence, negotiate, and mobilize Be able to contribute knowledge and evidence and absorb it Be able to translate experiences and lessons learned into action For this role, it is advantageous if you have Academic studies or experience in other related strategic areas relevant to Sida's activities and mandate Experience leading knowledge and methods development within the subject area Experience with reporting work, writing government submissions, and responding to government assignments Good to know This position is a temporary contract until 2027-01-15.
