Do you want to work at the heart of modern materials technology where precision, mechanical skill, and safety meet heavy industry? Our client in Surahammar is a world-leading player in the development and manufacturing of advanced materials and specialty alloys. We're now looking for someone who is practically minded and has good mechanical understanding for their powder department!
As an operator in the powder department, you'll be a central part of the manufacturing process where metals are melted, atomized (converted into powder), and packaged. Beyond controlling and monitoring the process, the role involves a lot of hands-on work where you're expected to tinker, bolt, and maintain equipment to keep production running.
Monitoring and control of powder and atomization processes.
Mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, assembly, and cleaning of machinery and process equipment.
Preparation, weighing, and filling of raw materials.
Handling of metal powder, capsule filling, and packaging.
Material handling within the facility using trucks and traverses.
Ongoing quality assurance, sampling, and safety inspections.
Your Profile
To thrive in this role, you must love working with your hands, understand how things fit together mechanically, and not be afraid to get your hands dirty.
We're looking for someone who:
Has mechanical skills: You can tinker, are comfortable with tools, and enjoy screwing, replacing parts, and solving mechanical problems that arise on the line.
Can handle physical work and warm environments: Work in the powder department is physically demanding and takes place periodically in very hot environments.
Is thorough and safety-conscious: Handling advanced processes requires that you carefully follow safety regulations and wear the right equipment.
Is a true team player with a positive attitude: You support your shift colleagues, bring good energy, and understand that safe operations are built on good teamwork.
Mechanical background: Experience with mechanical work (e.g., from automotive/vehicles, maintenance, machine repairs, industry, or practical technical education).
Driver's License & Licenses: B-class driver's license is required. Forklift license (A+B) and traverse license are highly desirable.
Experience: Previous work in process industry, machine shop, foundry, or manufacturing is desirable.
Language: Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing (required for safety instructions).
Work Schedule: Ability and opportunity to work shifts.
