Mechanical Design Engineer - Pneumatics, Valves and Actuators

Location: Landskrona. Full-time, on-site with possibility for hybrid arrangement by agreement. Working language: English. We are seeking a mechanical design engineer for a consulting assignment with an international player in the automotive industry in Landskrona. You will work with both new product development and maintenance of products, primarily valves and actuators for heavy vehicles. The role is broad and hands-on – from concept and design through testing, industrialization, production and continuous improvement. Responsibilities – Develop new pneumatic valves, actuators and related mechanical products – Create design solutions based on technical and customer requirements – Follow the product through its entire lifecycle: concept, design, manufacturing and maintenance – Develop and update 3D models, drawings, calculations and technical specifications – Conduct tolerance analyses and evaluate calculation and test results – Evaluate design against supplier processes, internal assembly and total cost – Participate in technical discussions with suppliers and customers – Support development of test methods for new designs and subsystems – Improve existing products and manage design changes – Investigate deviations and drive measures, including 8D methodology – Contribute to continuous improvement of design methods and processes We are looking for someone with – University degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent – At least three years of experience with pneumatic systems – Experience in mechanical product design and product development – Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods – Documented experience with 3D CAD, preferably Creo – Experience with tolerance analysis – Knowledge of PDM systems – Basic knowledge in Mathcad or similar, as well as FEM (preferably ANSYS Workbench) – Fluent English in speech and writing Meritorious: experience from the automotive industry, particularly heavy trucks, buses or commercial vehicle systems. Approximately five years of experience in mechanical design and/or product verification is a plus. The assignment suits you if you are curious, driven and like to achieve your goals.
