We are now seeking a mechanical designer who wants to combine technical creativity with practical problem-solving on exciting projects in industry. As a mechanical designer at AFRY, you will work through the entire design process, from early ideas and concept development to finished design and implemented solution. You will create 3D models and technical documentation using modern CAD tools such as SolidWorks and Inventor, while contributing with material selection, component selection, and technical assessments to ensure sustainable and cost-effective solutions. You will be an important part of our project teams and work closely with colleagues in various engineering disciplines to transform customer needs into smart and functional solutions. The role involves significant responsibility where you drive the design work forward and ensure that deliverables maintain high quality, meet technical requirements, and follow the project timeline. Work takes place primarily from AFRY's office or at the customer's site, with the possibility of some remote work depending on the nature of the assignment. Qualifications In the role of mechanical designer, your personal qualities are crucial for success. You need to be a Problem-solver who can handle complex design challenges by seeing the bigger picture and approaching problems from multiple angles. Furthermore, it is important that you Plan and structure your work, with clear plans for design assignments and organized drawings and versions to ensure project quality. The role also requires that you are Initiative-taking, as you as a consultant are often expected to drive the work forward without detailed supervision. Finally, it is critical that you are Service-oriented, as you represent AFRY at the customer's site and need to act with a service mindset, deliver according to customer needs, and be responsive to new opportunities. Requirements Work Experience: Solid knowledge of overall mechanical design Experience with CAD design in some 3D CAD program Ability to collaborate and work in project teams Education: University degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent System Knowledge: Experience working in some CAD program Language Skills: Understand and speak Swedish and English relatively fluently and in detail in both speech and writing Merits Work Experience: Knowledge of machining techniques Overall understanding of weld design Education: Courses or experience in weld design System Knowledge: SolidWorks, Catia, or Inventor Additional Information Final application deadline is 2026-09-30.
