As a waste collection assistant, you work alongside the driver and are an important part of daily waste management operations. The work is physical and suits you if you thrive with a fast work pace, varying work environments, and working outdoors.
Job Description
As a waste collection assistant, you work in connection with waste collection and help with the practical tasks along established routes.
The role includes, among other things:
handling and moving waste containers and bins
riding in the garbage truck and working along established routes
jumping in and out of the vehicle repeatedly during your shift
working safely in traffic-adjacent environments
following instructions, schedules, and safety procedures
working closely with the driver and other colleagues
reporting risks, deviations, and incidents
working outdoors in varying weather conditions
The work is physically demanding and involves repetitive movement, lifting, and moving of containers. It is therefore important that you have good physical fitness and enjoy active work.
What We're Looking For
you are at least 18 years old
you can speak, read, and understand Swedish
you have good physical fitness and can handle active and sometimes heavy work
you can follow instructions, safety procedures, and occupational safety requirements
you are punctual, responsible, and reliable
you enjoy working outdoors
you can work in environments with traffic, vehicles, and moving people
you have good teamwork skills and a professional demeanor
you are flexible and can adapt to the company's needs
Previous experience in waste management, warehouse work, transport, construction, logistics, or other physical work is a plus, but we also place great importance on your attitude, work ethic, and ability to cooperate. The general requirements include good physical fitness, the ability to follow safety instructions, and the ability to work in environments with ongoing traffic and operations.
Other Information
This is a consulting assignment where you will be employed by Miljonbemanning and work with our client in Uddevalla and surrounding areas.
Working hours may vary depending on operational needs, and work may occur on weekdays as well as weekends. Flexibility and the ability to work with short notice may therefore be an important part of the assignment.
Work in waste management is physically demanding. Before starting the assignment, a mandatory health examination is conducted, including alcohol and drug testing. For waste management workers, movement and strength testing are also included.
