We are now seeking a machine technician for the Optics department in Täby. Here, optical lenses and components are manufactured with extreme precision for IR products and thermal cameras used worldwide. About the Position As a machine technician, you will be a key part of the production and maintenance organization, responsible for ensuring high availability and operational reliability of the facility's production equipment. You will work closely with operators, team leaders, and other technical functions to prevent operational disruptions, perform maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvements. You will work with advanced equipment in optical manufacturing, including CNC grinding machines, polishing machines, Diamond Turning machines, vacuum equipment, washing and cleaning systems, and measurement equipment for optical components. The work is varied and involves both planned maintenance and emergency interventions to ensure stable and efficient production. Working hours are arranged in a 2-shift schedule. 2-Shift Schedule Morning: Monday - Thursday 06:00-14:09, Friday 06:00 - 12:09 Afternoon: Monday - Thursday 13:51-22:00, Friday 11:51 - 18:00 Your Responsibilities A large part of the work involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment with high precision and availability requirements. You will work systematically with troubleshooting and problem-solving while contributing to improvement projects to reduce downtime and optimize machine performance. Common work tasks: Perform planned preventive maintenance according to maintenance schedules. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and simple electrical systems. Adjust, calibrate, and verify machine precision. Document completed maintenance work in maintenance systems. Analyze operational disruptions and identify root causes of recurring faults. Participate in improvement work within TPM, Lean, and OEE. Assist with installation, commissioning, and validation of new production equipment. Ensure that spare parts and equipment are available for operations. For this role, we are looking for you with: High school education in technology, industry, or mechanics. Experience with maintenance work in manufacturing industry. Experience with technical troubleshooting and repair of production equipment. Good knowledge of mechanics. Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics. Basic understanding of CNC-controlled machines. Ability to read drawings, manuals, and electrical schematics. Good computer skills. We would like you to have experience with CNC machines or other precision equipment. Experience from optics, semiconductor, medical technology, or other high-tech manufacturing is a plus. Good knowledge of Swedish and English is required as documentation, instructions, and contact points within the corporation occur in both languages. This position may provide access to export-controlled information and technology that is subject to U.S. export control regulations (ITAR/EAR).
