Regionteatern Blekinge Kronoberg is a performing arts institution serving two regions. Regionteatern's mission is to produce, arrange, and promote performing arts for children, youth, and adults. Our activities include original productions, co-productions, educational programs, residencies, guest performances, and touring productions.
Regionteatern is a limited company owned by Region Kronoberg, Region Blekinge, and Växjö Municipality. The theater has its rehearsal spaces, studios, workshops, and administration in Växjö.
Regionteatern's activities encompass theater, dance, and various events on tour in schools, community halls, and other types of venues, primarily in Kronoberg and Blekinge, as well as on our own stages in Växjö and Karlshamn.
Regionteatern is seeking a sound technician for a one-year contract position
Do you have a passion for sound, performing arts, and technical development?
We are looking for a sound technician at Regionteatern with a focus on sound technology and sound design, with a role that also involves cross-disciplinary work with stage technology and touring operations.
You will enjoy a varied workday alternating between sound work, rigging, maintenance, performance technology, and touring. You will become part of an engaged technical team where collaboration, flexibility, and technical expertise are essential.
Main duties and areas of responsibility:
· Participate in the development of productions and serve as technician for theater performances, post-show discussions, etc.
· Sound design for assigned productions or projects.
· Manage technical equipment including operation and maintenance before, during, and after performances.
· Participate in rigging of sound, lighting, projection, and stage equipment at our home venues and on tour.
· Serve as performance technician for both touring and other events.
· Participate in practical work around the performance space, both at home venues and on tour.
· Tour management, including preparatory contact with venues and schools.
Qualifications – we are looking for someone with:
· Relevant theater technical education with a focus on sound and/or several years of relevant work experience.
· Experience with theater technical work and good understanding of performing arts activities.
· Experience with QLab programming.
· Basic electrical and rigging knowledge.
· High level of social competence.
· Valid driver's license category B is required.
Before employment, an acceptable extract from the police criminal record must be presented, as parts of the work involve collaboration with children and youth.
Meritorious:
· Experience with touring.
· Knowledge of moving image and projection.
· Experience with live sound.
· Category C driver's license.
Personal qualities:
· Ability to work independently and take responsibility for your tasks.
· You are safety-conscious and take responsibility for a well-functioning work environment.
· Interest in and understanding of artistic work.
· You are flexible, solution-oriented with good prioritization skills.

Employment terms and other information:
This position is a full-time contract until December 2027.
The primary workplace is Regionteatern's facilities in Växjö, and work occurs during both day and evening hours, on weekdays and weekends.
Start date January 4, 2027 or by agreement.
