An Important Part of Lidköping's Development Lidköping is in an expansive phase with several major infrastructure projects and significant reinvestments, along with an increased need for operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater distribution network. You will become part of the Water and Wastewater business area, a great team with forward-thinking spirit and solid experience in water/wastewater and technical supply systems. Water and Wastewater currently consists of approximately 40 employees and is led by a Business Area Manager for Water and Wastewater and two subordinate Unit Managers – one for Water Treatment Plants and one for Distribution Networks. Together, we are responsible for the operation and maintenance of Lidköping's water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant, distribution networks, pump stations, pressure boosting stations, and the development of our water and wastewater infrastructure. The Role as Water and Wastewater Engineer As a water and wastewater engineer, you will become a key person in developing, renewing, and operating our water and wastewater distribution network. You will work both strategically and practically in an operation where public benefit and quality are paramount. As a water and wastewater engineer, your tasks may include: Planning and Investigation · Contribute to long-term water and wastewater planning and plan for future needs and sustainable solutions. · Conduct technical investigations, capacity calculations, and flow analyses as a basis for investments and development. · Analyze inflow and extraneous water and plan reinvestments in the water and wastewater distribution network. · Develop and maintain data, map materials, and models for the distribution network. Design and Implementation · Design and prepare technical documentation for new construction, reinvestment, and renewal of the water and wastewater distribution network. · Participate in and lead water and wastewater projects together with consultants, contractors, and internal project managers. · Prepare cost estimates and economic documentation for investment decisions. Support Operations and Develop Quality · Provide technical support to the operations team and assist with troubleshooting and operational disruptions. · Analyze operational data and propose measures that strengthen function, operational reliability, and sustainability. · Develop documentation, procedures, and working methods within your area of responsibility. Internal and External Collaboration · Participate in detail plans, building permits, and development matters, as well as procurement processes. · Maintain ongoing contact with property owners, developers, consultants, and authorities. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a bachelor's or master's degree in water and environmental engineering or education/experience that the employer considers equivalent. You have experience with design, operations, or investigation work in the water and wastewater field, specifically in distribution networks, and have good knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS. We are looking for someone who has previously worked with, for example, design, construction management, production planning, cost estimates, and installation specifications. Experience with water and wastewater regulations, water and wastewater law, and subscriber matters is also a merit. If you have worked in VA-banken or EDP Future, that is also a plus.
