The Department of Intensive Care and Perioperative Medicine in Malmö (VO IPV Malmö) at Skånes University Hospital (Sus) provides highly specialized anesthesia, operating room care, pre- and postoperative care, and intensive care. The department handles anesthesia for general and colorectal surgery, pediatric surgery, gynecological and obstetric surgery, hand surgery, vascular surgery, orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, and otolaryngology. We provide general intensive care and postoperative intermediate care with ten ICU beds and two intermediate care beds. We are also responsible for Sus's sterile services in Malmö and work with advanced pain management. VO IPV Malmö has approximately 680 employees, including approximately 75 physicians. 2 position(s). DUTIES We are seeking two licensed physicians for VO IPV with start date in spring 2027. Working with us means challenging, developmental, and rewarding work in a dynamic and varied work environment. These positions are two temporary contracts of six months each, with the possibility of extension. We want you to thrive with us and settle into your role as smoothly as possible. You will receive individualized introduction tailored to your previous experience and competencies. As a junior physician, you will rotate through our different units with the goal of preparing you for on-call work. All our staff members who participate in on-call duty are essential to our operations. In addition to clinical work, there are opportunities to participate in courses and training days. Our goal is that after completing your introduction, you continue with us as a specialty trainee physician and complete your specialist training in anesthesia and intensive care. This includes approximately 36 months of training in anesthesia and 24 months of training in intensive care. Specialty training also includes work placements in Lund where other parts of Region Skåne's highly specialized care are primarily provided, such as upper gastro- and endocrine surgery, major tumor surgery in otolaryngology, gynecological surgery, eye surgery, jaw surgery, and oncological radiation therapy, as well as specialist anesthesia for pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, and thoracic surgery. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you as a licensed physician with authorization to work in Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills at minimum level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. You are ready to begin Swedish specialty training, which means you have completed Swedish basic clinical training (AT) or basic hospital training (BT). We would like to see that you have experience in anesthesia and intensive care or other relevant experience in specialties dealing with acute conditions, as well as academic and teaching credentials. We are looking for someone with genuine commitment and interest in anesthesia and intensive care. To succeed in this role, it is important that you have sound clinical judgment, good communication skills, and can convey knowledge and information in a clear and pedagogical manner. You are a natural team player in the care of patients and have an interest in development, education, and research. We also value your ability to handle acute situations calmly and quickly adapt your approach based on changing circumstances. Personal suitability is given significant weight.
