About Us Adapted School is a separate school form for students who, due to an intellectual disability or brain injury, do not have the prerequisites to meet the grading criteria of primary or secondary school. We have mentors, student assistants, and practical aesthetic teachers on our staff. The school is centrally located in Solna, near Solna centrum, in the Skytteholmskolan facilities. We use different working methods from various perspectives, which means that the individual is in focus. Teaching should be adapted to each student's needs and development. Students should receive quality instruction where the focus is on knowledge acquisition and a quality school day. We are now seeking a teacher of woodwork and metalwork at 60% combined with a position as a Home and Consumer Studies teacher at 40% at Solna Adapted School. You will be part of a team at Adapted School that will shape and develop the activities and lay a good foundation for students' development. Our development areas include accessible learning environments and grading and assessment. An important part of the work is developing the social climate so that all students feel well and enjoy being in the group. As a crafts teacher, you are responsible for all parts of the craft process, from developing ideas and planning the work to creating and evaluating the work. You teach knowledge about tools, machines, and craft techniques as well as important subject terms and concepts. As a Home and Consumer Studies teacher, you cover all aspects of home and consumer studies from developing ideas and planning the work to creating and evaluating the work. You conduct lessons, pedagogical documentation, assessment, and strive to create a safe and welcoming environment where all students feel seen. Who Are We Looking For? We are looking for you who: are a qualified teacher with a teacher's degree and teaching certification are trained as a special education teacher for intellectual disabilities have experience in pedagogical work are qualified to teach woodwork and metalwork are qualified to teach home and consumer studies work from science and proven experience to create good learning environments (didactic, emotional, and physical) have a positive approach to IT as a natural tool in both pedagogy and documentation are familiar with LGR 22 and have knowledge of language-developing work methods. It is meritorious if you have previous experience teaching students in an adapted school. As a person, you are responsive to students' needs, clear, respectful, and have a great ability to collaborate with our students, parents, and colleagues.
