Nytorpsskolan in Rönninge is a grades F-9 school with approximately 300 students and 45 staff members. Located in the middle of a residential area, close to forest and lake, it is easy to reach by public transportation, car, or a pleasant walk from the commuter train. We actively use our beautiful surroundings; through outdoor pedagogy and after-school activities for younger students, and through outdoor and activity days for older students.
Are you a certified teacher, preferably with qualifications in one or more of Swedish, English, and social studies? Do you enjoy teaching in smaller settings and want to create good conditions for students to develop and reach their elementary school goals? If so, you could be the teacher we're looking for in Nytorpsskolan's special education group for grades 6–9, Örnen.
In this group, you'll work with students with diverse needs and backgrounds. Some students receive most of their instruction in the group, while others participate in one or more sessions per week. Teaching must therefore be clearly structured, flexible, and adapted to both individual and group needs.
You'll work closely with a student support aide and a social pedagogue. Together, you'll create a safe, accessible, and predictable learning environment where students have the opportunity to succeed. You'll also collaborate with students' regular teachers, mentors, student services, and guardians to ensure continuity and progression in learning.
Your Responsibilities
Your duties include:
- Planning, delivering, and following up on instruction based on student needs and elementary school curriculum guidelines
- Adapting instructional content, methods, and learning environment
- Creating structure, study focus, and positive relationships
- Supporting students' academic and social development
- Assessing and documenting student progress
- Collaborating with colleagues, student services, and guardians
We're Looking for You If You
- Are a certified teacher, preferably with qualifications in Swedish, English, and/or social studies for grades 6–9
- Have clear and relational leadership skills
- Can adapt instruction to varying needs
- Are curious about what helps each student develop and reach their potential
- Work in a structured, solution-focused, and persistent manner
- Collaborate easily and see team expertise as a strength
Experience with special education groups, special education work, or supporting students with special needs is a merit.
