Would you like to give grade 1 students a secure start and inspire their desire to learn? Vega School is now seeking a certified teacher for a full-time temporary position from October 19, 2026 through June 18, 2027.
Vega School is a municipal school in Haninge, near Vega commuter train station. The school is part of Vega School and Activity Center, where school instruction, library services, culture, and recreational activities come together.
Your role
You will plan, implement, and assess instruction in Swedish, mathematics, natural sciences, social studies, English, and visual arts for grade 1. You will serve as a mentor for a class and monitor students' learning, development, and well-being.
With clear structure and a responsive approach, you will adapt instruction to meet each student's individual needs. You will document their progress and collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and student support services. Your role also includes development meetings, collaborative planning, team meetings, professional development, and participation in school-wide activities.
What we're looking for
You have a teaching degree and teacher certification with credentials to teach grades 1–3.
You have knowledge of the curriculum and can plan, implement, document, and assess instruction in the early school years.
You can adapt instruction and create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
It's a plus if you have experience teaching and mentoring in grades 1–3. Knowledge of early literacy, writing, and mathematics development, as well as experience with targeted interventions, is also valued.
You demonstrate clear pedagogical leadership and structure your work so students know what to do and receive support to progress. You build strong relationships with students and guardians and collaborate with colleagues on student learning. You stay calm when routines change and can adjust your approach to the situation.

About the position
