JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
At Gemö School, a preschool-grade 6 school, approximately 235 students are enrolled. Teachers work in teams of three in most grade levels. We have three after-school programs, two for younger students and one for older students. The school is centrally located within walking distance from the station and also close to nature. We work to ensure students feel continuity from preschool to grade 6, with similar lesson starts and endings. We develop language and knowledge across all subjects, and for the next two years our focus is on reading. As a grade 6 teacher, you share mentoring responsibilities with two other teachers. You also have some collaborative planning time. At Gemö School, we work toward a shared understanding of our students.
Our student support team consists of the principal, assistant principal/special education teacher, special education specialist, school nurse, counselor, and social pedagogue.
QUALIFICATIONS
You should have teacher certification in Social Studies/Swedish/Math for grades 4-6, and preferably have experience with language development work. It is a merit if you have experience working with Swedish as a Second Language (SvA) students.
