About Us Adapted School is a specialized school form for students who, due to intellectual disabilities or brain injuries, do not have the prerequisites to meet the grading criteria of primary or secondary school. We employ mentors, student assistants, and practical arts teachers as part of our team. The school is centrally located in Solna, near Solna centrum, in the Skyttheholmsskolan facilities. We use various teaching methods based on different perspectives, with the individual at the center. This means teaching is tailored to each student's needs and development. Students receive quality instruction focused on knowledge acquisition and a quality school day. We are now seeking a textile crafts teacher at 50% for Solna Adapted School. Learn more about Solna Municipality as an employer here. About the Position Together with other teachers, you'll be responsible for the pedagogical activities. You'll be part of a teaching team at Adapted School that shapes and develops the program and creates a solid foundation for student development. Our development areas include accessible learning environments and grading and assessment. An important part of the work is developing a positive social climate so all students feel well and enjoy being in the group. Your teaching will include: All parts of the crafts process, from developing ideas and planning work to creating and evaluating projects. Teaching knowledge of tools and handicraft techniques as well as important subject terminology and concepts. Who Are We Looking For? We seek someone who: is a qualified teacher with a teaching degree and teacher certification is trained as a special education teacher for intellectual disabilities has experience with pedagogical work has qualifications to teach textile crafts works from scientific evidence and proven experience to create good learning environments (didactic, emotional, and physical) has a positive approach to IT as a natural tool in both pedagogy and documentation is well versed in LGR 22 and has knowledge of language development teaching methods. It is meritable if you have previous experience teaching students in adapted schools. As a person, you are attentive to students' needs, clear, respectful, and have strong collaboration skills with students, parents, and colleagues alike. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues both within your subject and across disciplines. Your work is driven by genuine commitment where you are proactive and want to help develop our school. You plan, organize, and prioritize effectively and ensure all processes are completed with high quality.
