Skogbso School is a preschool through grade 6 school with approximately 430 students. The school is located just outside central Avesta. At the school, we actively work to create favorable conditions for learning by offering a secure learning environment and quality instruction, both in the school and at the after-school program. We are a partner school with Högskolan Dalarna, which means we receive teacher students each term, something that contributes to our scientific foundation and development of our operations.
All instruction at the school shall be permeated by our three guiding principles: learning, security, together – to give all students the opportunity to develop as far as possible according to their circumstances.

The position involves approximately 35% instruction in textile crafts, combined with a substitute teaching role in grades 4-6. Work tasks include planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction both independently and in collaboration with work teams and colleagues. An important part of the work is systematically monitoring students' learning development. You work according to applicable procedures for individual development plans and written evaluations.
You work to create a classroom situation where all students can succeed according to their circumstances. In consultation with the student support team, you also work to ensure that relevant measures are implemented for students in need of additional support. You are responsible for creating and maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
Other work tasks that occur include: • Recess supervision • Ordering instructional materials and similar items in collaboration with work teams • Pedagogical lunches, etc.
We are looking for someone who has the ability to lead and motivate students and create a secure and educational classroom environment with engaged and participatory students. Your leadership is characterized by clarity and structure. For the work to be successful, you need good collaboration skills and be relationship-focused, as good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues are fundamental to the work.
You need the ability to adapt your instruction based on results, evaluations, and the individual student's needs. To achieve this, you need a good understanding of how different students absorb knowledge and the ability to adapt your teaching approach at both group and individual levels.
The work tasks require personal maturity and an ability to distinguish between the personal and professional. You also need to be stable and composed in stressful or pressured situations, and flexible with the ability to adapt to changed circumstances. You understand the importance of working toward the school's overall goals and following established procedures, guidelines, and decisions, and you work for the benefit of the operation. Your ability to express yourself in Swedish, both in writing and verbally, is good.
Teacher certification in textile crafts for grades 4-6 and experience teaching grades 4-6 is a requirement for employment. Employment with other pedagogical qualifications may be considered.
