Welcome to our inspiring community at Gnesta Waldorf School! About the School The school is beautifully located on Gnestahöjden, a ten-minute walk from Gnesta train station, 40 minutes from Stockholm Central Station. The school is run by a non-profit association founded in 1993. Gnesta is a growing municipality, and we are a modern Waldorf school that is continuously expanding and developing with nearly 190 students distributed from preschool through grade 9, plus after-school activities. Gnesta Waldorf School is characterized by a holistic approach to students aimed at developing the whole person—mind, feeling, and will. Some things that distinguish our pedagogy are that we work with cross-disciplinary theme periods and aim to integrate creative activities such as visual arts, crafts, and music across all school subjects. The Position This is a fixed-term contract at 60% during school year 26/27. The start date is as soon as possible. Position Description We are looking for someone who will lead work within your subject area with Waldorf pedagogy as the foundation. You will teach grades 2–9. You will be part of a team that works together to help students reach their highest potential. As a subject teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating student instruction, both independently and together with colleagues, student services, and school leadership. You should also foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians through meetings and documentation. Qualifications State teaching certification or Waldorf teacher certification. You have a natural ability to create a creative environment for students, where relationship-building is a natural part of daily life. You have the ability to awaken curiosity and wonder in your students. Knowledge of and/or interest in Waldorf pedagogy and a desire to develop as a teacher and person. Several years of professional experience is required.
