Your responsibilities
You adapt instruction to students' needs and create a safe, inspiring, and structured learning environment. By capturing their interest in music, you create engaging and challenging instruction where students explore and develop various forms of musical expression. You work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues, including through cross-curricular projects that strengthen student learning and school development.
Your qualifications
You are a certified teacher for grades 7-9 with certification in music. It's an advantage if you're certified in additional subjects. You're comfortable using compensatory aids to meet students' needs, and digital tools are a natural part of your instruction.
With confident pedagogical leadership, commitment, and clarity, you create participation, trust, and strong collaboration with students, guardians, and colleagues. You're organized and plan, organize, and prioritize your work, while flexibly adapting instruction to students' needs and changing circumstances. Collaboration is an integral part of your work, both in planning and in sharing knowledge and experience.
What we offer
Önstaskolan is a lower secondary school serving grades 7-9 located at Önsta centrum in the northern part of Västerås. Approximately 400 students and 50 staff work here. At Önstaskolan, there are many adults around the students. Security surveys conducted each term show that students feel comfortable and are seen by many adults during the school day. The shared café in the center of the school is a natural meeting place during breaks. Önstaskolan also offers adapted lower secondary education for grades 7-9.

Before you can be hired, we conduct a criminal background check and you must provide a valid police clearance certificate.
At the time of interview, you must verify your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or personal ID together with an ID document. If you're not a citizen of Sweden, EU, EES, or Switzerland, you must provide proof of a valid work permit or be exempt from the requirement to have one. Employment can only begin after verification of your work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
