Backens School is a grades F–6 school where Umeå Music Classes are part of grades 4–6. The school has approximately 250 students and approximately 30 teachers work here. Employment Information
Two permanent positions, full-time, starting 2026-09-14 or by agreement.
Your Responsibilities
In one position, you will teach music, supervise club activities in the afternoons, and serve as a resource in the classroom and during recess. In the other position, you will work in the after-school program and collaborate with the class.
Your role as a teacher in the after-school program is to offer meaningful leisure time where you start from students' needs, interests, and initiatives while also inspiring new discoveries. Together with your colleagues, you provide students with a variety of working methods, forms of expression, and learning environments where care and learning are integrated. You collaborate with educators in preschool class and school to contribute to students' goal achievement. Contact and cooperation with guardians is also an important part of the work.
About You
You are well-versed in the school's policy documents, have the ability to vary teaching and activities based on students' needs. You are a trustworthy adult and a good role model who has the ability to connect with students, see each individual, and create a good learning environment. You motivate students by letting them participate and offer their own suggestions. Personal suitability is given great weight.
Requirements
Trained teacher in after-school programs
Have/have applied for teacher certification
Experience working with children and young people in leisure activities/school
Good knowledge of Swedish language, spoken and written
Valid extract from the criminal record registry
Meritorious
Education in music or sports
