Teaching Assistant in Crafts – Middle and High School

Apolloniosskolan is an F–9 school with a focus on safety, learning, and development. We have dedicated educators and work actively to create an inclusive, stimulating, and safe learning environment for all students. We are now seeking a teaching assistant with particular interest and knowledge in crafts, especially textile crafts, who can support our middle and high school students. It is important that you can sew and are experienced working with textile materials and tools. You will work together with the crafts teacher and help students practically during craft lessons. Job Responsibilities As a teaching assistant in crafts, you work closely with the responsible teacher and help students complete their projects in a safe and structured manner. Examples of job responsibilities: - Support and help students during textile craft lessons. - Help students with sewing and sewing machine use. - Demonstrate and help students with basic sewing techniques, hand stitching, measuring, cutting, and assembly. - Help students understand and follow instructions and work descriptions. - Support students in planning and executing craft projects. - Assist with materials, tools, and preparations for lessons. - Help maintain order in the craft room and organize materials. - Contribute to ensuring safety procedures are followed in the craft room. - Provide extra support to students who need more individual guidance. - Collaborate with the crafts teacher and other school staff. - When needed, also support activities within other areas of craft instruction. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: - Can sew and has strong practical knowledge in textile crafts. - Can use a sewing machine and feels comfortable with common textile tools and materials. - Enjoys working with children and young people. - Has patience and can explain practical tasks in a clear and simple way. - Is calm, responsible, and confident when interacting with students. - Has good collaboration skills. - Is flexible and can adapt your support to meet different students' needs. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and practical skills in sewing and textile crafts. Start Date: As soon as possible
