Region Västernorrland has been granted permission to establish National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) for the group of severe eating disorders at Sundsvall Hospital. It is a completely new form of care with both inpatient care and a smaller outpatient component that started on December 1, 2023. NHV addresses complex and rare care needs and operates at five locations in Sweden, with collaboration on research and development. The purpose of consolidating this care is to ensure high expertise across the entire multidisciplinary team and to provide high-quality care without limiting accessibility. NHV maintains close collaboration with other psychiatric activities within the region's operations in Västernorrland and receives patients from all over Sweden. Your role as a senior resident is central to ensuring high-quality medical care within the NHV unit. We are now seeking a senior resident or a licensed physician for our team. The position is a one-year full-time locum with possible extension. Start date by agreement. Responsibilities Perform medical assessments and follow-ups of patients in both outpatient and inpatient care. Participate in treatment conferences to contribute to care planning and monitoring of patients' treatment goals. Handle acute medical situations in collaboration with other staff. Document in patient records according to applicable guidelines. Contribute to research and development within the NHV operations, including participation in ongoing studies such as PROÄT. Qualifications We are looking for someone who Has completed at least term 10 of medical school Has good knowledge of Swedish, spoken and written Has basic knowledge of care and treatment of patients with complex psychiatric and somatic conditions, including eating disorders It is an advantage if you Are a licensed physician Have good knowledge of English, spoken and written Have experience or interest in working in psychiatry, especially with eating disorders Have experience handling medical instability and assessing somatic complications associated with eating disorders, such as refeeding syndrome and electrolyte disturbances To succeed in this role, we believe you have these personal qualities Self-driven Stable Team collaboration skills Structured Region Västernorrland With approximately 7,000 employees and over 200 professions, Region Västernorrland is responsible for several of the activities most vital to residents' ability to participate in society.
