Our Operations The Usage Operations area has approximately 180 employees and consists of several units. We work in the Knowledge Support and Medication Use unit, where we are responsible for developing independent medication information in the form of knowledge support for Swedish healthcare for safe and rational medication use. In our work, we collaborate with internal and external experts, as well as with many other units within the Swedish Medical Products Agency. The unit has about twenty employees with a wide range of competencies and experience. The unit engages in both regular operational work and development and investigative activities. To carry out our mission, we work with: - actively identifying needs and knowledge gaps - developing knowledge support, communicating and publishing these - conducting investigative and development activities as well as monitoring medication use both with other units at the Swedish Medical Products Agency and other authorities - scientific information searches and literature provision by serving as an internal resource - promoting systematic follow-up of the effects of implemented measures. Central products for which the unit has implementation responsibility include, for example, treatment recommendations and Läkemedelsboken. The unit consists of two groups where one group primarily works with Läkemedelsboken and the other with treatment recommendations. We now need to recruit an additional investigator. Since this position is of strategic nature, it will report directly to the unit head. Your Responsibilities To thrive as a medical investigator at the Swedish Medical Products Agency, you should have a strong interest and commitment to medication issues. This may involve working with knowledge governance in the form of, for example, treatment recommendations, Läkemedelsboken, or answering complex questions about medication use from various stakeholders. You will also support other projects and investigations at the agency-wide level, such as government assignments, as well as participate in collaborations with other authorities and actors. Together with the unit's and agency's epidemiologists, statisticians, and project managers, you will contribute to developing work on knowledge governance of national medication use. The Swedish Medical Products Agency is a knowledge-intensive authority with many stimulating and competence-developing tasks. The work is independent, but is often conducted on a project basis in close collaboration with other investigators and other disciplines, and you are expected to lead your own projects and working groups. Since the work tasks within the operations are varied, you are expected to contribute even outside your area of expertise. The work often involves external stakeholders and includes a significant amount of external communication. Your Background We are looking for you who are a physician with specialist competence or have significant clinical experience in a broad and medication-intensive area. A doctoral degree or equivalent experience in research and evaluation of clinical data within relevant areas is an advantage. The work requires that you have good computer skills and very good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
