The Department of Economics is one of the largest departments within the Faculty of Social Sciences with approximately 100 employees from about ten countries. Annually, around 1,000 students participate in one of our courses at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. Researchers at the department are often engaged as experts in public investigations and in the media, and collaborate in many ways with the surrounding society. Do you have experience in educational administration and enjoy a role with many contact points? Then you might be the person we're looking for. With us, you'll become part of an engaged administrative unit with eight colleagues with different areas of specialization and an administrative manager. In your role as course administrator, you'll work broadly within undergraduate education and other administrative tasks – a varied position where you'll continuously learn new things. Duties You'll work closely with the department's teachers and have extensive contact with students from different programs and courses. A large part of the work is performed in administrative systems. The work involves independently handling educational administrative matters such as: course and program administration, registration, results reporting, working with course offerings in various databases, study follow-up, management of course materials, exam administration, information and administrative service to students, teachers and other staff. In addition to course administration, other department-wide tasks, not directly associated with the course administrator position, may be included in your duties. The administrative systems you'll work with are primarily Ladok, Studium (Canvas), NyA, TimeEdit, DiVA and to some extent Sitevision, as well as the university's general main registry W3D3. As a course administrator, you're expected to continuously develop professionally within your field. You should be able to understand various issues and contribute to both creating procedures and finding solutions that facilitate and develop our operations. Qualifications Higher education within a relevant area or equivalent experience that the employer deems equivalent Current and documented work experience in administrative work, preferably from a public agency Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English in speech and writing Very good computer skills Since contact with teachers and students is central to the work, great emphasis is placed on service orientation, responsibility and good collaboration skills. You are self-driven and proactive, which means you can identify needs, adapt to changed circumstances, and see opportunities and solutions. The workload varies throughout the year, which requires you to work in a structured manner and prioritize your work. You have the ability to handle busy periods by planning and organizing work efficiently, while also being able to take responsibility for and drive your work during quieter periods. As a person, you are outgoing and communicate easily. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Meritorious Experience working at a university or college Experience in educational administration Experience in student contact in both Swedish and English Good knowledge of relevant IT systems, such as Ladok, Studium (Canvas) and NyA About the Position The employment is permanent.
