Ref: 20261979 Job Responsibilities We are now looking for a school counselor for grades F-3 at Klagshamnsskolan! In your role with us, you will have special responsibility for students in need of additional support from a social and psychosocial perspective, and will actively participate and assist school management in school development work. With your expertise, you contribute to ensuring that appropriate interventions for students in need of special support from a social and psychosocial perspective are considered and offered. Furthermore, you will work to identify and create opportunities for change and development at the student, group, and organizational levels, for students' health, learning, development, and work environment. Your role also includes working toward an equitable learning environment that provides our students with the conditions to achieve their learning objectives and personal development in an optimal way. You work from a solution-focused and evidence-based approach, both preventative and health-promoting, and become part of the school's student health team. Your role also includes, in addition to what has been mentioned above, among other things: Contribute knowledge about risk and protective factors for students' health, social situation, learning, development, etc. Conduct school social assessments and social evaluations as needed. Offer mentoring, consultation, and advice to school staff from a social perspective. Collaborate and cooperate with students, guardians, school staff, and when necessary external stakeholders regarding interventions for student(s). Cooperate with authorities and activities in preventive work related to the school or the City of Malmö Operational proximity collaboration with other staff at group and individual levels (observations and modeling in classrooms, recess, and during leisure time). Qualifications You have a degree as a social worker and at least two years of experience in social work with a focus on children and youth. We would prefer that you have experience working as a school counselor. Documented experience with mentoring and work in close proximity to groups and individuals is also valuable. You have good insight into the school's objectives and governing documents, knowledge of other municipal departments and for example child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), as well as knowledge of practices and guidelines in the field. We have nature on our doorstep with a lake, forest, beach, and sea within close proximity. Klagshamnsskolan has approximately 700 students from pre-school class through grade 9, and around 90 people work here. The school is divided into two school buildings; the Klagshamns building, which this year has grades F and 1, and the Strand building, which this year has grades 2-9. The management team consists of a principal, three assistant principals, and an administrative director. The school is characterized by a positive climate among colleagues and between students and adults at the school. We all work together to create a school where everyone feels seen and acknowledged.
