The Education Division has over 1,900 employees and together we work to provide children, youth, and adults with quality education. We are responsible for, among other things, 36 preschools, two preschool buses, 17 primary schools, Adapted School, Nyköpings gymnasium, Adapted gymnasium, and adult education at Campus Nyköping. Our focus in recent years has been to develop a plan for systematic quality work and a common language development approach for the entire organization. It is important to us that both at management and operational levels, time is invested in working on our shared issues. Therefore, each school has scheduled time every week for conferences, development work, and collaboration projects. About the Rector's Area Area D has approximately 750 students from preschool class through grade 6. The area includes Släbroskolan, Stigtomta skola, and Råby skola. The area's operational goals are based on politicians' vision of the best primary school in 2030. We work deliberately with the division's school development plan with focus on collegial learning and natural leadership regardless of position in the organization. For us, it is important that you as an applicant are well familiar with the school's governing documents and can implement them in practice. We operate from the premise that everyone working at a school contributes to student welfare, but we also have a dedicated student welfare team whose mission is to work primarily on promotion and prevention. This involves analyzing, supporting educators, leading the schools' Safety Teams, and participating in respective student welfare teams – always in natural close collaboration with the school's other educators. DUTIES As a school counselor, you are part of the school's student welfare team and work to promote health, prevent problems, and take action to create conditions for students' learning, development, and well-being. The work involves both individual student contacts and collaboration with guardians, educators, and external partners. An important part of the assignment is to contribute the psychosocial perspective to the school's development work and to support school staff in matters concerning students' social and emotional development. QUALIFICATIONS We seek a person who: • Has a very strong ability to build trusting relationships with students and guardians. You are attentive, empathetic, and can quickly establish contact with people in various situations. • Has high social competence and can adapt your approach based on the individual's needs and circumstances. • Has a good ability to guide and provide consultative support to teaching staff in matters concerning students' psychosocial situation, approach, and adaptations in the school environment. • Can translate psychosocial knowledge into practical and usable strategies in the school's daily work. • Has good collaboration skills and enjoys working across professions within student welfare. • Is independent, organized, and has the ability to prioritize and organize your work. Meritorious • Experience working as a school counselor. • Experience with consultative work and staff guidance. • Knowledge of systematic student welfare work and health-promoting measures in schools. • Experience collaborating with social services, child psychiatric services (BUP), and other external partners.
