We are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer at Paxxo in Malmö! This is a permanent full-time position with a desired start as soon as possible. What does Paxxo do? Paxxo is the small, family-owned company with big ambitions. Founded in 1980 in Malmö with a clear purpose: to develop sustainable bag systems for efficient waste management. The company's product – Longopac – is a world-unique bag system that today is sold globally with great success. What makes Paxxo unique is that all production takes place in Sweden, in the company's own facilities in Östra Hamnen in Malmö. In recent years, they have made major investments in production and are now in a clear expansion phase. Read more about us here What does a Design Engineer do at us? As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Paxxo, you have a key role and take significant personal responsibility for the continued development of the company's machines. You work broadly with everything from design work and drawings to building prototypes and troubleshooting in production. The role is free and independent, with your own office and great opportunity to shape your work approach. You drive your own development projects of parts, accessories, and entire machines, and support production when adaptations or changes are needed. In short: you get to be involved from idea to finished solution. You will: Work with CAD design – approximately 30% new design, 30% adaptation, 30% maintenance (we use Onshape) Create and update manufacturing drawings, detail drawings, and tolerance calculations Test concepts and build prototypes, including 3D-printed parts and fixtures CE-mark and update existing machines when design changes are made Provide technical support to procurement regarding component selection and manufacturing issues Work closely with machine builders, maintenance manager, and production staff Drive your own projects in parallel with ongoing production tasks Who are you? We believe you are the technically curious designer who likes to think out solutions and then go into the workshop and test them. You have several years of experience in design work and are equally comfortable at the CAD computer as you are in production. We believe that you: Have several years of experience in machine design, machine development, or similar Have practical experience with mechanics and pneumatics – steel and aluminum Are confident in CAD design in 3D, preferably Inventor or another 3D system Have experience creating manufacturing and detail drawings Are self-driven and experienced in making your own technical decisions Communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both spoken and written Experience with CE-marking, calculations and simulations, or understanding of electrical systems and electrical drawings is a merit.
