About the Workplace At the Administrative Office in Sala, we bring together the municipality's central support functions in finance, personnel, administration, procurement, quality, and IT and digitalization. About 65 employees work here in various roles. Together, we form the service platform that enables core operations to deliver quality to the municipality's residents. This position will be part of the Administrative Unit, whose mission is to ensure that one of the most important elements of our democratic society is upheld. In Sweden, everyone has the right to transparency and the ability to monitor how elected officials and civil servants manage the municipality through the principle of public access. The unit works to coordinate and consolidate solutions that standardize and digitalize processes to achieve efficiency and reduce vulnerability in the aforementioned area, from mail to archives. Sala Municipality's operations are broad, ranging from schools and healthcare and social services to more technical municipal services such as water and sewage, property management, and building permits. In your role as a municipal lawyer, you'll work with a wide range of legislation together with our Head of Administration. Through this assignment, you'll have good opportunities for personal development while contributing to the further development of the municipality's legal work. As a member of the Administrative Unit, you'll be offered competence-enhancing activities in the form of both internal and external training. Job Responsibilities In your role as a municipal lawyer at Sala Municipality, you'll work independently but also in close collaboration with skilled colleagues within the municipality and through external contacts. You'll have an advisory and reviewing role, supporting the municipality's operations. As a municipal lawyer, you'll work broadly with various types of legislation. It's a varied job where you'll have the opportunity to use your knowledge across a wide range of legal issues. The work includes, among other things, writing legal analyses, interpreting legislation, ensuring that the municipality's various operations comply with relevant legislation, and managing municipality-wide governance documents. Qualifications We're looking for someone with a law degree (jur. kand) or equivalent legal education. Work as a municipal lawyer requires good knowledge in several areas of law such as municipal law, administrative law, social law, school law, property law, and public access and confidentiality. It's a merit if you have previous experience with legal work in the public sector, preferably as a municipal lawyer, investigator, or case handler. If you've recently graduated, you're also welcome to apply! As a person, you're service-oriented, flexible, and enjoy taking on challenges. You have the ability to quickly grasp legal issues of varying complexity and feel comfortable providing professional support to both civil servants and elected officials. You're unpretentious and willing to solve tasks within your area of responsibility. Juggling multiple tasks is something you handle well. You can structure complex issues and communicate solutions clearly, both verbally and in writing, even to those without legal expertise. You enjoy working consultatively and collaborating with others while feeling confident taking your own initiative and independently driving issues within your area. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language. Your workplace is in central Sala, but since our operations are located throughout the municipality, it's an advantage if you have a driver's license.
