Kitchen Assistant/Cook for Pool Service in Meal Service

Meal Service now has two open positions in the pool—one as a kitchen assistant and one as a cook—where together with colleagues you will create a joyful dining experience for our guests. About the role and your responsibilities In your assignment as a pool service role, you will be placed where you are needed most on any given day. You are an active part of meal preparation together with your colleagues. You contribute to the daily kitchen work and ensure that food, offerings, and service maintain high quality. Professional customer service is a given, as is your contribution to a positive dining experience for guests in the school cafeteria. Your responsibilities include preparation, cooking, special diets, dishwashing, and cleaning. You participate in work on quality and efficiency together with coordinators and work teams. Together with colleagues, you manage orders and work in cost data programs. You are also responsible for ensuring that self-monitoring is carried out according to food legislation and the Food Agency's regulations. As a pool service role, you work actively and collaboratively to contribute to the development and goals of different workplaces and operations. You represent Lund Municipality in a professional manner by working to implement and follow the municipality's processes, guidelines, and policies. What we're looking for For the kitchen assistant position, we seek someone with at least two years of work experience in large-scale kitchens. If you also have experience working with cost data programs and previous work experience with guest interaction, we consider that a merit. For the cook position, you must also have completed cook training and have at least 3 years of work experience from large-scale kitchens. In the pool service role, you need good collaboration and communication skills and be service-oriented. You have a flexible approach and the ability to adapt and see new opportunities when changes occur. You can independently organize, plan, and prioritize work in an efficient way. You must be able to communicate in Swedish both verbally and in writing, and you must have good computer skills. A category B driver's license is required. This is what we give you as an employee About the workplace Meal Service comprises 46 kitchens distributed across seven units and is responsible for preparing meals for preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, and elderly care. Approximately 20,000 portions are prepared daily by over 200 employees. The operation strives to offer good and nutritious food, promote healthy eating habits, and provide high-quality service. You will have your home placement in one of our school kitchens, but will be a resource for all our kitchens. We work in a digital system where you receive your daily placement via SMS. The Service Administration meets the needs of Lund Municipality's other administrations and municipal companies. We have approximately 600 employees. Together we work to build and maintain the municipality's buildings, premises, and housing and ensure they are intact, clean, and functioning properly. We cook meals for the municipality's children, youth, and elderly, we care for green spaces around the municipality's buildings, and we manage the municipality's vehicles and transportation.
