JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The kitchen assistant's main task is to work together with our chef to produce well-prepared meals and to provide professional service to our restaurant guests. The school's restaurant serves course participants and school staff as well as conference guests and external visitors.
Within the service team's work group, all functions collaborate for the school's benefit. This means that sometimes work tasks may occur that are not typical of the kitchen assistant role. The assignment includes assisting the entire service group wherever needed at any given time, which places high demands on your flexibility and service-oriented attitude. Environmental and sustainability issues are important in daily work. The role also includes participating in the design and development of menus and meals as a whole, and being a good representative for the school in daily interactions with restaurant guests.
As a kitchen assistant, you work with, among other things:
• serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner
• salad bars and cold service
• baking
• dishwashing and cleaning
• cash register.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a service-oriented employee with knowledge and creativity, who in collaboration with the chef wants to contribute to offering well-prepared food from scratch, continued development toward a greener kitchen, and a broader flavor palette.
As a kitchen assistant you should have:
• completed upper secondary education in restaurant and food or other education and experience that we find equivalent
• good and documented competence in food hygiene
• previous experience working in a restaurant kitchen
• computer skills.
For this position, it is advantageous if you have knowledge of special diets and competence in environmental and sustainability issues as well as experience working at a folkhögskola.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: start date according to agreement.
