We are now seeking a part-time kitchen assistant at Vattmyra Preschool to work with our chef. The preschool has a large kitchen with the capacity to serve meals to approximately 150 children. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are now looking for someone who wants to create a wonderful meal experience, every day, for our youngest citizens in the municipality, where the joy of food becomes an important part of the operations. As a kitchen assistant, you are an important part of our team and ensure that children have good and positive meal experiences. The work is flexible with varying tasks that may occur in a preschool kitchen. As a kitchen assistant, you help with dishwashing, cleaning, simple food preparation, follow hygiene procedures, and ensure that meals are served in a pleasant and inviting manner. One of the goals of our food services is to serve delicious and well-prepared meals that meet children's needs for energy and nutrition, all according to Swedish nutritional recommendations. The meals should establish and promote good public health and be characterized by quality and service-oriented thinking. QUALIFICATIONS In the first instance, we are looking for someone with upper secondary education in the restaurant and food service/catering program or equivalent education. If you also have previous experience working in a large-scale kitchen, we consider that an asset. It is important that you can collaborate and work well with many people, both adults and children. You should contribute with good work effort, be able to work independently, and have the ability to take own initiative. The work requires you to be outgoing and comfortable in an environment with both adults and children. It is desirable if you have knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines that govern meal service operations. Applicants with knowledge of food hygiene and special diets are considered an asset. You should have good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. The position is a temporary part-time contract from October 1 or by agreement until June 30, 2027. The background check certificate is called "Background Check Register for Work in the School System" and can be ordered on the Police website. Note that the background check certificate must not be more than 6 months old from the date of issue.
