Do you want to create food joy for children and students every day? We're now looking for a dedicated, service-oriented, and driven kitchen manager chef for Västra School's kitchen in Hudiksvall. Västra School's kitchen is one of the municipality's larger food production kitchens. Here, meals are prepared for students in grades F-6 and adapted school, as well as for several preschools in central Hudiksvall. The kitchen also functions as a resource kitchen, which means that production can be expanded when needed to support other operations or units, for example during crisis situations. We're looking for someone who has a strong commitment to public meals and who wants to combine cooking, work management, and development work in an important operation where meals contribute to students' health, well-being, and learning. Job Responsibilities As kitchen manager chef, you're responsible for the daily operations together with your colleagues. You lead, plan, and develop the operation with a focus on quality, sustainability, and excellent service. The role includes, among other things: Planning, preparing, and serving well-prepared, sustainable, and nutritious meals. Taking responsibility for daily operations and contributing to a positive work environment and good workplace satisfaction. Leading and distributing daily work and, together with the team, developing and streamlining the kitchen's working methods and routines. Managing purchasing based on the operation's needs, agreements, budget, goals, and guidelines. Ensuring that the operation complies with applicable regulations, guidelines, routines, and quality requirements for food handling and self-monitoring. Working with administrative tasks as well as monitoring finances, food waste, and other relevant key metrics. Being present in the dining hall during parts of the meal service to build good relationships with students, increase interest in healthy meals, and contribute to a welcoming dining environment. Your Profile Cooking education at least at the high school level. At least three years of experience working in a large-scale kitchen or similar operation. Experience leading and distributing daily work. Good computer skills and basic knowledge of digital systems. Good ability to express yourself in speaking and writing in Swedish. About the Administration We sweep streets, plow roads, and build new ones as Hudiksvall's towns grow. We make sure parks bloom and ensure that the food waste you sort becomes biogas for cars and fertilizer on our fields. We prepare nutritious meals for our children, young people, and elderly – every day. We manage maps and GIS so society can develop. We ensure there's clean water in your tap and in nature and that our students get to and from school safely with school buses. We manage properties such as senior care facilities, schools, swimming pools, and sports halls – and keep them clean and nice. Together, we're the technical administration – part of Hudiksvall municipality.
