We welcome your application! About the Position As a licensed veterinarian at UDS, you will work in a varied daily environment in a 24/7 operation at Sweden's only university animal hospital. Since SLU is the only training institution for animal health professionals, you will be involved in educating future veterinarians and veterinary nurses in the clinic. The position includes evening, night, and weekend shifts. Our operations run 24/7. You will receive support from our specialists and experienced colleagues on the team to help you thrive in the clinic and develop in your role. Your Background You are a licensed veterinarian with permission to practice veterinary medicine in Sweden. You have several years of clinical experience. You are a confident emergency veterinarian experienced in medical assessment and emergency surgery. It is an advantage if you have Level 1 competency in canine and feline diseases or equivalent. Since the position involves extensive contact with pet owners and students, you need good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing, or good knowledge of English and motivation to learn Swedish. You are communicative with a strong ability to create and maintain good relationships with clients and colleagues. You are interested in teaching and participating in creating good conditions for research. As a veterinarian at the university animal hospital, you have a scientific approach and interest in evidence-based care. You understand that an event-driven emergency operation with irregular working hours is something you can handle. As a person, you are organized, have good self-awareness, an understanding of what stresses you, and a willingness to contribute to the operation. About Us The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for undergraduate education, research, and graduate education in anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine, and reproduction. In all these areas, our operations span all animal species. At SLU University Animal Hospital (UDS), education, research, and advanced animal healthcare go hand in hand. We educate tomorrow's veterinarians and veterinary nurses and provide excellent care for companion animals, competition animals, and production animals. We also disseminate knowledge to the public.
