Teaching is based on Waldorf pedagogy and is characterized by practical learning, nature, and creative activities. We believe that practical work strengthens students' thinking in theoretical instruction, and much of the teaching takes place outdoors in the park or forest surrounding the school. The aesthetic subjects hold a special place, and we have a rich cultural life with theater, music, and seasonal celebrations together. The school day has a clearly structured rhythm, as does the entire school year, and great emphasis is placed on creativity and communication – students are given space and opportunities to express themselves. About Årsta Gård Since 1958, Årsta Gård has operated an adapted primary and secondary school with a Waldorf pedagogical approach. The activities are part of the non-profit Årsta Gård Foundation and also include group homes, short-term stays, and day programs. The school is beautifully situated in a large park next to Årstaviken in southern Stockholm. Here, 18 teachers and over 40 assistants work together with approximately 75 students, sharing a common vision of creating a place where life grows. With experience, knowledge, and commitment, we meet each individual on their own terms and move forward step by step toward a meaningful and as independent life as possible.
