Estimator in Construction for a Mid-Sized Building Company

Our client is now looking for an estimator to join their team in Göteborg. Here you'll get a broad and varied role where you'll estimate many different types of construction projects – including residential development, commercial projects, and renovations.
You'll be an important part of the estimation process and have the opportunity to be involved from the initial request for quote to the completed bid. The role suits you if you enjoy analyzing projects, finding smart solutions, and at the same time keeping track of both details and the bigger picture.
About the Position
As an estimator, you drive the estimation work from request for quote to completed bid proposal. You work independently and in close dialogue with site managers and the regional manager.
The work involves time and cost estimation, planning, follow-up, and risk assessment in both the bidding and production phases.
You'll work broadly with different types of projects, which means no two days need to be the same. You create and are responsible for bid estimates, conduct site visits, perform quantity takeoffs, and send relevant requests for prices and documentation.
An important part of the role is also to quality assure the estimates and keep yourself updated on market prices, contracts, and current conditions in the projects.
Areas of Responsibility
Develop detailed time and cost estimates for different types of construction projects.
Own and drive the process from request for quote to completed bid proposal.
Work with estimates for residential development, commercial projects, and renovations.
Communicate and collaborate closely with site managers and the regional manager.
Plan and follow up on project estimates throughout execution.
Perform risk assessments and ensure projects from an economic and scheduling perspective.
Conduct site visits to verify quantities and existing conditions.
Responsible for quantity takeoffs and requests for materials, subcontractors, and services.
Quality assure estimates and bid documentation.
Stay updated on current market prices and industry agreements.
We're Looking for You
Have several years of documented experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
Have a good understanding of the building process and project management.
Are analytical and find it easy to familiarize yourself with complex projects.
Are meticulous, structured, and used to working toward deadlines.
Have good communication skills and enjoy collaborating with different professional roles.
Have experience with estimation software and other relevant IT tools.
Enjoy working independently and taking responsibility for your own estimates.
