The Swedish Film Institute is a state-funded foundation with a mission to strengthen Swedish film at all levels—from concept to finished film, launch in Sweden and worldwide, and to preserve and provide access to Swedish film heritage through Swedish film policy. At the Swedish Film Institute, you will work in an inspiring environment where film and culture are at the center. With us, you will become part of a creative and meaningful operation while contributing to strengthening the conditions for Swedish film and culture. We are looking for a lawyer with at least three years of experience in legal work. This position suits you if you are stimulated by tackling a broad spectrum of legal matters. You will report to the Head of the Strategy and Analysis Unit and are part of the Strategy and Communication Department, which also includes HR and Communications. This position is a six-month temporary appointment starting in January 2027. The Assignment Your work tasks include supporting the organization with internal legal advice, covering everything from contract law and copyright to questions regarding state aid, public procurement, and public access and confidentiality legislation. This may also include monitoring national, EU, and international legal developments within the Film Institute's areas, developing and updating procedures and policy documents for internal work, working with contracts, and keeping minutes. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who has: A bachelor's degree in law and at least three years of experience in qualified legal work. An interest in public procurement and other public law as well as contract law, and some knowledge of copyright. Experience working within public administration. Experience with property matters is a merit. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both written and spoken, is necessary. As a lawyer at the Film Institute, you work in close collaboration with all departments and units, often with both short and long deadlines. It is therefore important that you are collaborative, constructive, receptive, and have integrity. The position also requires a good ability to prioritize and handle many different types of matters simultaneously. What We Offer The opportunity to contribute to operations at one of Sweden's most important cultural institutions. Varied work days in an inspiring work environment where film is at the center. Application The Swedish Film Institute wants to be an attractive employer characterized by a commitment to being free from discrimination and providing equal opportunities for all. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences as we strive for broader representation in the organization. Our core values are: competent, engaged, transparent, and forward-thinking.
