Police Area Northwestern Scania is one of the police areas within region South and extends across eleven municipalities. The Investigation Duty Section is organized at the police area level and consists of investigation duty, case coordination, crime coordination, arrest and seizure. The section's mission is broad, but includes, among other things, meeting and handling the police area's incoming presumed crimes at an early stage, both in prioritized cases with, for example, detained persons and in bulk crimes. Duty investigation commanders lead the event-driven investigation activities through active preliminary investigation management and directives for initial investigative measures across the entire police area around the clock. We are now looking for several duty investigation commanders based in Helsingborg. 4 position(s). WORK DUTIES The duty investigation commander function is divided into two command groups and is physically located in Helsingborg. As a duty investigation commander, you serve as an internal management function at the interface with external police operations. You are responsible for: • following the event-driven situational picture in the police area's investigation activities • supporting and leading external police operations • supervising duty investigators • cooperating with the Prosecutor's Office • taking relevant first-hand measures • continuously assessing the legal grounds for detention • examining and making initial preliminary investigation decisions • preparing case transfer, within and outside the unit • managing cases within the framework of SLF and SLF youth • handle media when the communications department is not available • be armed while on duty You work closely with station commanders and investigative personnel. QUALIFICATIONS This is an opportunity for you who have: • police certification according to the Police Ordinance (2014:1105) on training to become a police officer • at least two years of experience as a police officer • preliminary investigation management training – basic, planned, ongoing or completed • good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish It is a merit if you also have: • at least six months of experience in investigation work within the Police Authority • experience of cooperation with other government agencies • experience working in an investigation duty environment • work experience from change and development work • experience working in various police operations • experience in operational management that the employer deems relevant • completed the national preliminary investigation training Personal Qualities We are looking for someone who is confident in leading and making decisions and who has the ability to stay calm and take responsibility even in pressured situations. In this, you will benefit from your good communication skills as you can constructively present your viewpoints and adapt your language to your audience. You are skilled at providing clear and confident directives and have the ability to use and convey your knowledge. Together with your colleagues in the function, you contribute to developing methods and working practices for the entire section. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
