The Investigation Section is part of the Västernorrland Police District and consists of on-duty investigation leaders and crime coordination. As an on-duty investigation leader, you act operatively and take responsibility for the cases handled by the function. We are now seeking you who are interested in working as an on-duty investigation leader in Örnsköldsvik, Härnösand, Kramfors, or Sundsvall. 1 position(s). DUTIES As an on-duty investigation leader, the team operates 24/7 throughout the year in regional, police district, and local police district cases. You supervise patrols in the field to take far-reaching and relevant immediate action, and you also supervise the investigation resources available during day and evening shifts to ensure that appropriate and adequate investigative measures are taken in the cases for which you are the investigation leader. As a supervisor, you also have a responsibility for the work environment based on your supervisory function. Together with the group supervisors, you coach, motivate, and support employees and create conditions for them to succeed in the crime investigation and crime prevention mission. As an on-duty investigation leader, you act offensively and lawfully in accordance with applicable legislation. You also cooperate with, among others, crime coordination, station commanders, on-duty commanders, RLC commanders, external commanders, the Police Contact Center (PKC), local investigation leaders, prosecutors, the court system, defense attorneys, and the correctional service. Within the team, expedited prosecution (SLF) is handled, where you as investigation leader support patrols on-site in cases to be handled within SLF and manage the case until it is handed over to the prosecutor. As an on-duty investigation leader, you may also serve as investigation leader in other teams/units and/or in individual cases. QUALIFICATIONS This is an opportunity for you who have: • Police degree according to Regulation (2014:1105) on police training or other education or work experience that the employer deems relevant • Relevant professional experience in independent criminal investigation work • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing • Good computer skills and good knowledge of the MS Office package It is advantageous if you also have: • Relevant experience in supervision with good results. • Current and relevant experience in investigation leadership with good results. Beneficial to have experience with investigation leadership in an on-duty environment • Experience in independent criminal investigation work with good results. • Completed the Police investigation leader training at least at the basic level with passing results. The role of investigation leader is complex and places high demands on the ability to work both independently and in a team, to build good relationships, and to cooperate well both internally and externally. To succeed in the role, you need to be active in your supervision and independently be able to drive investigations and work tasks forward in a responsible manner. As the work load can be high at times, you need to be able to remain calm in stressful situations, make assessments of which work tasks need to be prioritized, and make quick decisions based on the known facts available even if the full picture is not yet clear. Since operations are event-driven, it requires that you as a person are flexible, unpretentious, and coaching toward your colleagues. You have an engaged and positive approach; through this you create participation and motivation among your employees. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
