Valkas novads Municipality (Reg. No. 90009114839) invites applications for a full-time Education Specialist position in the Education, Sports and Youth Department (Profession code 2422 42 according to the Occupational Classification). Work location: Rīgas iela 25, Valka, Valkas novads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure implementation of education policy within the municipality;
- Organize state examinations according to the procedures established by the Cabinet of Ministers;
- Organize and coordinate student participation in subject olympiads, competitions, exhibitions, projects, and scientific research conferences;
- Coordinate education-related projects;
- Organize and ensure accessibility of the municipality's pedagogical and medical commission for children with special needs;
- Ensure data entry and updates in education information systems, prepare information necessary for municipal operations;
- Conduct education quality monitoring activities;
- Prepare draft municipal council decisions, responses to complaints, and press releases on education topics.
Requirements:
- Higher education in pedagogy, education management, educational sciences, management sciences, quality management, or equivalent field;
- Advanced proficiency in the state language;
- Understanding of the education system and regulatory framework (or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge);
- Understanding of municipal operations and function provision;
- Very strong digital skills;
- High accuracy, sense of responsibility, communication skills;
- Ability to make decisions continuously, set priorities, meet deadlines.
