As IT Director at Eskilstuna Municipality, you will have a broad mandate to lead and develop the municipality's IT operations. Together with two deputy unit managers, you will create concrete value for the municipality's activities and residents, and contribute to smart welfare in a smart Eskilstuna.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As IT Director, you lead the IT Operations and Support unit with a strong focus on both operations development and IT. The unit has approximately 50 employees distributed across two teams. Your management function includes two deputy unit managers and an IT controller. The role encompasses financial and personnel responsibility.
You will be a key person for:
• leading the development of a robust, modern, and secure IT infrastructure,
• further developing the municipality's ITIL-based working methods,
• developing and managing the municipality's IT environments and data centers,
• ensuring efficient and proactive IT support,
• creating good conditions for digitalization across the entire municipal organization.
You are also an asset owner for IT within the pm3 model. In that role, you collaborate with the municipality's administrative units to ensure that development and management of shared IT services are conducted collectively, efficiently, and based on operational needs.
In close collaboration with the digitalization director, you contribute to realizing the digitalization program's strategic directions, from improved user experiences to data-driven working methods and automation. You represent IT in the municipality's steering groups and participate in both major strategic projects and internal development initiatives. Here you have the opportunity to connect technology, security, working methods, operational needs, and continue working with change management in an organization in constant development.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone who has
• relevant higher education or equivalent competence that the employer deems equivalent,
• solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, large IT environments, and data centers,
• several years of experience leading and developing IT operations and employees in a larger organization,
• experience developing ITIL-based working methods.
You are a confident and present leader who creates clarity and engagement. You build strong teams, get different parts of the organization to collaborate, and find it easy to see the whole picture and make well-balanced priorities. With a good balance between structure and development drive, you make well-founded decisions even in complex situations. You communicate clearly, build relationships, and create trust both in operations and in technical contexts.
Above all, you understand the municipality's mission and are driven to use IT and digitalization as strategic tools to create the greatest possible value for our residents.
