As an IT architect, you'll be part of an architecture team where several colleagues have clear specialist areas, and your role will be to contribute a holistic perspective. You'll help see how different parts of the IT environment connect and how new needs can be solved in a way that works technically, securely, and practically for operations. In the role, you will, among other things: see the big picture of the city's IT environment and understand how different technology areas affect each other help projects and operations choose solutions that work over time develop solution proposals, technical documentation, and recommendations support implementations and changes where multiple systems, vendors, or technology areas are involved ensure that new solutions fit with existing architecture and decided principles work closely with other architects, specialists, project managers, operations, and vendors contribute to joint decisions for the city's technical development assist in complex troubleshooting and problem-solving when multiple systems, vendors, or technology areas need to work together You will work closely with both operations and IT. This could involve understanding a need in an early stage, weighing different technical alternatives against each other, and helping a project move forward when questions become complex. An important part of the role is being able to explain technical decisions in a way that makes them understandable and useful to others. The city's IT environment consists of both shared platforms, such as identity and Microsoft 365, and a large number of operational systems, integrations, and vendor solutions. The role is therefore not about being a specialist in a single area, but about understanding how different parts connect and contributing to the whole functioning well. Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone who has: academic education in IT, systems science, computer science, or other education that the employer deems equivalent multiple years of experience as an IT architect, solutions architect, technical architect, or equivalent role broad technical understanding of how different layers in an IT environment work together, such as client platforms, identity, network, infrastructure, cloud services, integrations, and applications experience developing solution architectures and assisting in technical design work in projects and development initiatives good understanding of the interaction between operations, technology, and security good ability to document, communicate, and present technical solutions in Swedish It is meritorious if you have: experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, identity and access management experience with integration platforms and information flows experience with information security and security architecture experience with procurement and vendor management experience with public operations or other politically governed organization certifications in architecture, cloud services, or information security To succeed and thrive in the role, we see that you are curious about both technology and operations, and you have the ability to analyze operational needs and convert them into practically feasible, secure, and maintainable technical solutions. You have the ability to listen to needs, understand context, and at the same time have the courage to give clear recommendations when the way forward is not obvious. You communicate clearly and adapt your message to your audience, and you are comfortable collaborating with specialists, operations, and vendors. You are self-driven, work in a structured manner, and enjoy bringing order to complex issues.
