Do you want to use your experience and commitment to help people advance in their careers? Are you passionate about coaching, development, and making a real difference—while also wanting to work in a varied and independent role? Then you might be the person we're looking for!
At Iris, we work every day to strengthen people's self-esteem, confidence in the future, and opportunities to take the next step in their careers. We're now opening our operations in Uppsala with Rusta and Matcha, as well as transition assignments, and we're looking for a skilled, engaged, and independent coach who wants to help build our team.
About the role
As a Career Coach, you will support people facing a change in their work life—this could include job coaching for the unemployed, career transitions, new career paths, or retraining needs. Participants may or may not require health-adjusted services. You will work closely with participants through individual meetings, follow-ups, and ongoing coaching.
Your responsibilities include, in addition to daily and ongoing administration:
• Independently coach participants toward work or studies.
• Lead individual coaching sessions with a focus on career guidance and change support.
• Assess competencies, formulate goals, and create individual development plans.
• Support participants in job searching, CV and application work, and educational choices.
• Match participants' skills with employer needs and build professional networks.
• Collaborate with employers, authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Work goal- and results-oriented based on set requirements and objectives.
You will plan and structure your work independently—in close dialogue with participants and your manager. The role also involves travel throughout the region, as coaching may take place in multiple locations. A B-driver's license is therefore desirable. Personal suitability is given significant weight.
Who are we looking for?
We believe you are a person who creates security, engagement, and motivation in your interactions and who delivers results. You are skilled at listening, analyzing, inspiring, and networking—and you are driven by seeing others grow and reach their goals. You are also careful with deadlines and comfortable managing multiple parallel tasks at once, working with participants both individually and in groups.
You need to have:
• At least 7 years of work experience (full-time).
• At least 3 years of coaching experience in the past 7 years.
• Documented coaching competence and ability to support people through change.
• Good knowledge of the local labor market and established employer contacts.
• Understanding of government systems such as the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Social Insurance Agency, etc.
Relevant education could be within work life, behavioral science, psychology, study and career guidance, social work programs, or education in job coaching (vocational college, university).
It is desirable if you have experience with:
• Work-related rehabilitation, at least three years.
• Coaching people with physical or mental health challenges.
• Experience arranging work trial and internship placements.
• Very good digital skills and knowledge of digital job search tools.
• Collaboration with actors in the rehabilitation chain and labor market legislation.
What we offer
With us, you get:
• A meaningful assignment where you make a difference every day.
• Independence in your work combined with collegial support.
• Skills development and the opportunity to develop in your coaching role.
• A warm, inclusive, and unpretentious team where we help each other move forward.
