Interim Director for Government Agency in Gothenburg Selecta Recruitment is seeking two experienced interim directors for an extended consulting assignment with a government agency in Gothenburg. Placement location: Gothenburg Scope: 100% Assignment period: October 20, 2026 – October 19, 2027 Number of consultants: 2 About the assignment The assignment is carried out in an organization undergoing a period of change and development. Multiple change initiatives are running in parallel while operational and organizational challenges need to be addressed. As an interim director, you will have a central role in supporting and assisting the organization's managers in both strategic and operational leadership. The focus is on creating structure, momentum, and coordination. You will work with, among other things: Analysis of the organization's current situation Prioritization and coordination of initiatives Management and monitoring of operations Coordination and implementation of change work Development of analyses, decision-making materials, and recommendations Following up and implementing improvement initiatives Support for managers on strategic and operational matters Operational development and change management The goal is to strengthen the organization's capacity to implement changes while ensuring stability and quality in ongoing operations. Requirement profile To be suitable for the assignment, you need to have: Academic education in leadership, management, logistics, maritime, or equivalent experience deemed equivalent At least two years of experience as an interim director Documented ability to combine strategic analysis with operational implementation Documented strong results from operational activities Experience in developing analyses, decision-making materials, and recommendations for management Ability to drive and follow up on improvement initiatives in complex operational environments Experience in change management and operational development Merits It is particularly meritorious if you have: Experience managing other managers Experience managing 24/7 operations Workplace and remote work Work is conducted primarily on-site at the agency's offices in Gothenburg.
