We are now seeking an experienced interim chief executive for a consulting assignment with an established organization with an important public mission and operations throughout Sweden. Here you will have a central role in an organization undergoing a period of change and development. The assignment suits you if you are accustomed to quickly grasping complex operations, creating structure and momentum, and supporting managers and the organization through change. About the Role As interim chief executive, you will support an operational business in the Gothenburg area during a period when multiple change initiatives are running in parallel, while operational and organizational challenges need to be managed in the short term. Your assignment will be to relieve and support the organization's managers in both strategic and operational leadership. The focus is on creating structure, momentum and coordination, and contributing to stability in daily operations. You will work with analysis of the current situation, prioritization of interventions, and coordination of change work. An important part of the role will also be to strengthen managers' capacity to lead the business through change and ensure that decisions and initiatives are implemented in practice. In summary, the assignment includes: Supporting and relieving managers in strategic and operational leadership Analyzing the current situation and identifying and prioritizing relevant interventions Creating structure, momentum and coordination in the organization Coordinating and driving change and improvement work Supporting management and follow-up of operations Preparing analyses, decision-making materials and recommendations for management Strengthening managers' capacity to lead the business through change Ensuring implementation in ongoing initiatives Contributing to stability in ongoing operational activities What We're Looking For We are looking for you—an experienced interim chief executive accustomed to quickly grasping new and complex operations. You have the ability to switch between a strategic perspective and operational execution. You are confident in creating structure and momentum even when multiple initiatives and challenges need to be handled in parallel. To be relevant for the assignment, you must meet all of the following requirements: Academic education in leadership, management, logistics, maritime or equivalent experience deemed equivalent Documented ability to combine strategic analysis with operational execution Interim chief executive for at least two years Documented strong results from operational business Experience preparing analyses, decision-making materials and recommendations for management Ability to drive and follow up improvement initiatives in complex operating environments Experience in change management and business development Meritorious: Experience leading managers Experience leading a 24/7 operation, such as maritime, transport, healthcare, emergency services, manufacturing or other businesses with continuous operations Other Requirements: You must be able to provide a reference assignment of similar character completed within the last five years. About the Employment This is a consulting assignment where you will be employed as a consultant by OIO. Working Conditions and Benefits: Start: October 20, 2026 Scope: Full-time, 100 percent Location: Gothenburg Assignment Length: Initially 4–6 months, with possibility of extension for approximately 3 + 3 months – maximum 12 months Work Model: Possibility of remote work up to two days per week may be available Interview: If you advance in the process, you will need to be available for a digital interview with our client via Skype, preliminarily October 7 or 8, 2026.
