Interim Unit Manager for Water and Wastewater

We are now seeking an interim unit manager for water and wastewater (VA) at Lidköpings kommun. About the Assignment The position is full-time with a start no later than 261015 and runs until 270201 with the possibility of extension one month at a time. Your Responsibilities The unit is responsible for the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and water towers, as well as for replacing water meters at customers. The interim manager shall have overall responsibility for the operation of the water and wastewater facilities, excluding the distribution network. The assignment includes leading and developing the operations and ensuring efficient and sustainable operation in accordance with applicable legislation and the organization's objectives. The unit currently consists of two operations managers and ten operations and meter technicians. Within the business area in another unit, there are also support functions in the form of environmental engineers, process engineer, control and regulation engineer, project managers, operations and project support, and safety coordinator. Plan and lead operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater facilities together with the operations managers Ensure required meter replacements at customers Exercise personnel responsibility and lead and develop employees individually and as a group Ensure high-quality and sustainable access to clean water and safe operation of the facilities Responsible for budget, monitoring and resource planning in the short term Ensure compliance with applicable permit, environmental, occupational health and safety requirements Develop routines and processes Collaborate with other parts of the organization, adjacent technical areas, departments and external parties in development projects Participate in the business area's management group Your Qualifications Relevant academic degree in engineering, water and wastewater or equivalent field, or alternatively experience deemed equivalent. Experience in operation and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities, preferably from municipal water and wastewater operations or the process industry. Several years of experience in personnel management and leadership of technical operations organizations B-class driver's license Good understanding of occupational health, safety, environmental and procurement requirements Good ability to communicate in Swedish orally and in writing as well as good documentation skills Pass a background check You should have good collaboration skills, be relationship-building and have the ability to create trusting relationships both internally and externally. The interim manager should be solution-oriented, structured and have good ability to prioritize, plan and manage multiple parallel issues simultaneously.
