F 16 is responsible for Uppsala garrison and the operations of Uppsala airport. The squadron is also responsible for monitoring Swedish airspace 24/7, year-round, and leads the Swedish Air Force's fighter aircraft in flight. You will be part of a military organization undergoing major change and development due to the global situation and Sweden's NATO membership. About the Unit 163rd Garrison Battalion is part of Upplands Air Squadron, F 16. The battalion was established in 2025 and consists of battalion command, logistics company, garrison company, and training company. The battalion's main tasks are to train combat units, lead mobilization, support assigned units, provide host nation support at F 16 and the garrison. The battalion's role and tasks are developing rapidly to meet the new tasks and challenges facing Sweden and the Swedish Armed Forces. Main Job Duties As an instructor, you will work as part of a platoon staff to plan and conduct training of conscripts. The position is varied and will be conducted both at the unit and at exercise and shooting ranges. You will develop in your role as an instructor in the Swedish Armed Forces and will be given the opportunity to lead specific training such as basic soldier service and occupational training. The position also includes troop leadership in your assigned role. Within the Swedish Armed Forces, we always work as a team.
