Core Facilities, Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg, is seeking an Institutional Technician for the Department of Experimental Biomedicine (EBM), fixed-term position, SÄVA. Core Facilities is an open university-wide research infrastructure for Life Science research. We are located at Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, and offer access to some of Sweden's most advanced techniques and analytical tools for research in areas such as medicine, biomedicine, and clinical studies. Experimental Biomedicine (EBM) is a multifunctional research facility within Core Facilities that provides infrastructure, expert knowledge, and training for research involving animal experimentation. EBM is also a national competence center and operates an MRI imaging facility. Animal welfare as well as the 3R principles (Replace, Refine, and Reduce) are integrated into all aspects of EBM's operations and policies. We are in a renovation project and need to strengthen our dishwashing team with goods logistics and handling as primary work tasks. The facility has high hygiene requirements and the central dishwashing unit's main mission is to provide the operation with clean equipment. We are now seeking an institutional technician, positioned in the clean goods, logistics, and support team, to ensure the operation's needs for clean goods with a focus on quality. Job Responsibilities Logistics and support of goods and materials for the operation. Operation of tunnel dishwashing machine, bottle washer, cabinet washer, and autoclave. Within the dishwashing process, goods are sorted and washed and delivered to storage; cleaning and maintenance of machines and dishwashing areas are included, as well as waste management and receipt of goods. In your daily work, you are part of a team where work tasks are shared, but you are expected to work independently. Qualifications You are at least 18 years old and have relevant upper secondary education, preferably in technology or nature/animal care. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who likes taking responsibility, whether it comes to respecting schedules, maintaining good quality, or achieving set goals. Since work as an institutional technician may involve repetitive and heavy lifting, it is important to us that you work in an ergonomically correct manner and appreciate staying active. As a person, it is important that you are flexible and maintain good cooperation with your colleagues and contribute to good morale in the group. At the same time, you need to be comfortable working independently. You have good communication skills, both verbal and written, in Swedish and English, as both languages are spoken among colleagues and researchers. We value strong personal commitment, a solution-oriented approach, and thoroughness in work tasks. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability in terms of collaborative ability and flexibility. Experience in logistics, warehouse management, and forklift operation are advantageous.
