State Police Kurzeme Regional Department North Kurzeme District Investigation Department Inspector (Administrative Violations Investigation Group) in Talsi Profession Code – 3355 13 Candidates who have not previously served in institutions of the Ministry of Interior system or the Prison Administration will be required to complete professional development training in 3-month courses in Riga at the State Police College by November 23, 2026! Main Job Duties: Review submissions from individuals and legal entities. Upon detecting an administrative violation, initiate administrative violation proceedings: verify whether an administrative violation has been committed; classify the administrative violation; select the appropriate administrative violation proceeding method for the specific circumstances; make procedural decisions. When initiating an administrative violation proceeding or accepting into case management an administrative violation proceeding initiated by the District Response Department or Prevention Group, conduct investigation activities; evaluate and perform necessary procedural actions for the specific circumstances; comply with procedural deadlines; identify and secure obtained evidence; evaluate the relevance, admissibility, and sufficiency of evidence; assess the necessity of applying procedural sanctions and procedural coercive measures. Make decisions in administrative violation proceedings: prepare the administrative violation case for review; review the administrative violation case; make a decision in the administrative violation case; make a decision regarding an administrative violation committed by a minor; where sectoral law establishes divided competence, forward the case to the competent institution for decision-making. Review administrative violation cases due to newly discovered circumstances. Initiate and conduct departmental inspections. Perform data entry and retrieval from information systems. Requirements for Candidates: Compliance with requirements established in Articles 4 and 7 of the Law on Official Conduct of Officials in Ministry of Interior Institutions and Prison Administration; First-level professional higher education (Legal Sciences, Civil and Military Defense, Business and Administration, Social and Human Sciences, Computer Science); State (Latvian) language proficiency – highest level C; Category B driving license; Activated secure electronic signature.
