As a university lecturer in mechanical engineering, you will have the opportunity to combine your professional expertise with teaching, supervision, and development in an academic environment. Your Responsibilities We are looking for someone who wants to use their knowledge and experience from working life to educate the next generation of engineers. Your duties include teaching and supervision at the basic level as well as course and educational program development. Teaching primarily covers subjects such as mechanical engineering, with a particular focus on mechanics, strength of materials, machine elements, mechatronics, programming, and machine learning (AI) at upper secondary school preparation and basic university level. In addition to teaching and supervision, you are expected to take an active role within the subject group regarding pedagogical development of the subjects and development of engineering programs together with others at the university. This includes work on developing mechanical engineering with a focus on automation and AI. You are expected to stay updated within your subject area and follow external developments relevant to the education's content and quality. The position includes professional development equivalent to ten percent of working time. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to student learning by sharing your knowledge and experience. For this position, a degree in mechanical engineering, automation, or another relevant field (Master's or engineering degree) is required, or equivalent relevant professional competence of significance for the position's subject content. You have good computer skills and strong programming knowledge in Python and C/C++. You communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. You have demonstrated experience in training, such as industrial employee training or teaching at upper secondary school or university level. Pedagogical training is required and can be completed during the first two years of employment. The role requires that you have good collaboration skills. You work in a structured manner with a strong ability to plan, take initiative, and prioritize tasks. Furthermore, you are a present and engaged colleague.
