The Correctional Facility Administration is a state administrative institution subordinate to the Ministry of Justice that implements state policy in the area of detention as a security measure and deprivation of liberty as criminal punishment.
An official is a person with appropriate professional education, qualifications, and special service rank who has taken an oath and serves in the Administration. The rights and duties of officials are determined by the Correctional Facility Administration Law and the Service Procedure Law for Officials with Special Service Ranks of the Interior Ministry System Institutions and the Correctional Facility Administration.

Requirements for Candidates:
Compliance with requirements set forth in the Service Procedure Law for Officials with Special Service Ranks of the Interior Ministry System Institutions and the Correctional Facility Administration:
Latvian citizenship;
Age 18 to 50 years;
Minimum secondary education required for the position;
Latvian language proficiency at B level, stage 1;
Physical fitness meets requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 288 of 28.05.2013 "Physical Fitness Requirements for Officials with Special Service Ranks of the Interior Ministry System Institutions and the Correctional Facility Administration");
Health condition and psychological characteristics meet requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 970 of 21.11.2006 "Regulations on the Health Condition and Psychological Characteristics Required for Officials with Special Service Ranks of the Interior Ministry System Institutions and the Correctional Facility Administration and Candidates for Such Positions, and the Procedure for Health and Psychological Characteristics Assessment");
No conviction for intentional criminal offense – regardless of conviction expungement or removal;
Not convicted for intentional criminal offense with exemption from punishment;
Not prosecuted for intentional criminal offense, except where proceedings were terminated on rehabilitating grounds;
Not declared incapacitated in the manner prescribed by law;
Not dismissed from service in the Interior Ministry System or Correctional Facility Administration due to disciplinary dismissal;
Good communication skills and high psychological resilience;
Ability to work both as a team member and independently.

Annual paid leave – 30 calendar days, extended by three calendar days for every five years of service;
