The region's operations, with approximately 9,500 employees, are organized into four police areas: North, City, South, and Gotland, which together are divided into 19 local police areas. Additionally, there are four regional units: border police, operational unit, intelligence unit, and investigation unit, a regional office, and national departments represented in the region to support police operations. The mission of HR for Stockholm Region is to provide professional and proactive, operations-focused HR support based on the needs and goals of the operations and the region. During 2026, an organizational transition occurred, meaning that HR support previously belonging to a national department is now organized as a section within the police region. HR in Stockholm Region has approximately 90 employees, organized into eight teams. The teams include both generalists and specialists, with expertise in work environment & culture, employer matters, recruitment & staffing, competency development, and management succession. Collaboration occurs continuously with employee organizations and occupational health and safety representatives. We are now seeking an HR Director for Regional HR who wants to contribute to the continued development of the region's capacity for effective crime prevention and investigation by ensuring professional and operations-focused HR support. This is aimed at achieving the best possible results for citizens and operations, as well as strengthening the region to continue developing as an attractive workplace. As HR Director, you are important strategic support to regional management and contribute through your operations to creating conditions for the region to achieve its goals. You drive the development of operations-focused support in the region and ensure that this support meets the needs present in the police areas. You lead through your group managers and, together with the section's employees, ensure that the support provided strengthens the organization and managers in their employer role. Furthermore, you ensure that the region develops a value-creating and trustful collaboration with employee organizations and the occupational health and safety organization. You have a proactive approach and the ability to translate changes in the external environment into your own assignment. You are inquisitive in your working methods, have a holistic perspective, and the ability to challenge and contribute to the crime-fighting mission in your daily work. You will collaborate and cooperate with both internal and external parties, and you create conditions for using the power of solving problems together by building a trusting climate for cooperation. As HR Director, you represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen confidence in police operations as a whole. You have excellent ability to cooperate and collaborate and to build sustainable relationships over time. The HR Director reports to the Regional Police Chief and is part of the police region's strategic management group, thereby leading the police region. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that assignments are carried out and driving the authority's long-term change and development work. As HR Director, you are responsible for your operations and its results. You lead your section's management group. Being a manager and leader within the Police Authority means creating security and building trust by exercising genuine, courageous, and attentive leadership with confidence in others' competence and ability. As a manager, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that is based on following the law and treating people equally. You create conditions and work toward good relationships that contribute to us acting together based on what is best for citizens and the mission as a whole. This is an opportunity for you who have: · relevant academic degree or police degree · at least three years of experience leading and managing in a complex organization together with other managers (formal management) · several years of experience working successfully goal and results-oriented for both the entire operational assignment and your own responsibility area · experience leading and driving complex change and development initiatives · experience with collaboration with labor organizations and occupational health and safety organizations · been part of a strategic-level management group · current experience of strategic HR work · good knowledge of and experience in HR work and its various areas · Swedish citizenship Meritorious: · other academic education in addition to police degree · at least one year of experience leading through other managers (manager of managers) · experience in management at a corresponding level within a government or public sector authority · experience working in a law enforcement or crime prevention authority · good knowledge of the police authority's mission, management, and governance · experience participating in/driving external collaboration with societal actors · management and leadership training for strategic managers When we hire, we will place great emphasis on personal qualities and leadership abilities.
