About the Department We are the care unit in Västra Götaland that provides highly specialized thoracic surgery care, both electively and acutely. Our patients come from throughout the region, and we care for them pre- and postoperatively. The care unit also includes an intermediate care and recovery unit with three care beds. Our department is characterized by short hospital stays and high patient throughput. We are looking for someone interested in working at a dynamic and creative workplace that continuously works on improvement initiatives for increased quality and patient safety. Job Responsibilities As a nursing assistant on our unit, you are responsible, according to your assignment, for the care of patients undergoing heart or lung surgery, both pre- and postoperatively. You collaborate well with colleagues around the patient and have established routines and good management support. Thoracic surgical care requires an individually adapted introduction period depending on previous experience. Our schedule follows the department's needs, weekdays as well as weekends. About You We are looking for you who have a valid professional certification as a nursing assistant. Previous experience in acute care, surgical and/or postoperative care is a merit. We are looking for you who have personal maturity and independence, you take your own responsibility, are calm and stable, and have the ability and courage to act according to your convictions. You work well with other people and handle challenges in a constructive way. Since work on the unit is often varied and challenging, we also see that you are a flexible and solution-oriented person with good teamwork skills and good interpersonal skills. An interest in technology is also a great plus as thoracic surgical care is highly specialized and you will handle advanced technical equipment in your daily work. We warmly welcome your application!
